Caterpillar’s O&G and Marine division is seeking a Pricing Strategy Analyst to support the Marine business within our Houston, Texas operation.
This role goes beyond pricing administration and quote support. The successful candidate will leverage pricing, business, and financial analysis to support growth initiatives, contract reviews, strategic decision-making, and commercial opportunities across the Marine product portfolio.
Working closely with Sales, Product Support, Operations, and leadership teams, you will analyze data, evaluate business opportunities, respond to ad hoc requests, and provide actionable recommendations that drive profitable growth. The ideal candidate is an independent, analytical thinker who is comfortable working through ambiguity, solving complex business challenges, and translating data into meaningful business insights.
Experience with pricing, contract analysis, commercial decision-making, and business analytics will be critical to success in this role. What You Will Do Support pricing and commercial decision-making through detailed analysis of contracts, customer agreements, market conditions, and business trends.
Evaluate pricing opportunities and identify recommendations that support profitability and business growth. Analyze business data and develop actionable insights to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions. Support contract reviews and provide financial and commercial analysis to leadership teams.
Respond to ad hoc business questions and analytical requests from stakeholders across the organization. Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate key business trends, risks, and opportunities. Partner with Sales, Product Support, Finance, and Operations teams to support commercial and growth strategies.
Utilize data to identify process improvement opportunities and support decision-making across the Marine business. Maintain and analyze information within systems including Salesforce, Power BI, Excel, and other business tools. Support forecasting, performance tracking, and ongoing business analysis initiatives.
What You Have Business Analytics & Problem Solving Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop business recommendations. Ability to independently solve problems and navigate ambiguity. Experience utilizing data to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
Pricing & Commercial Analysis Experience supporting pricing, contracts, commercial analysis, financial analysis, or related business functions. Ability to evaluate pricing impacts, profitability drivers, and customer agreements. Experience translating data into actionable business insights.
Communication & Business Partnership Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple functions. Experience translating complex data into meaningful information for business leaders.
Technical Skills Advanced Excel skills required. Experience utilizing business systems such as Salesforce, Power BI, or similar analytical and reporting tools preferred. Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations preferred.
What Will Set You Apart Pricing analysis experience. Contract analysis experience. Business analytics or commercial finance experience. Manufacturing, industrial, energy, or marine industry experience. Experience supporting growth strategy initiatives.
Power BI reporting and dashboard development experience. Strong business acumen and ability to influence decision-making through data.
